Are ThunderCats
still made?
Confirmed through Super7’s active ThunderCats ULTIMATES! catalog, which includes current figures, sets and archived releases under an official license.
The short history
ThunderCats reached toy aisles in 1985 alongside the animated series. The original LJN figures and vehicles turned Third Earth into a floor-size world built around Lion-O, the Sword of Omens and the fight against Mumm-Ra.
What survived
Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro, Mumm-Ra and the familiar weapons and visual world remain central to current figures.
What changed
This is a collector-focused revival. Super7’s seven-inch ULTIMATES! scale, articulation, accessories and prices differ sharply from the simpler 1985 LJN toys.
Current versions
Super7 currently produces seven-inch ULTIMATES! collector figures and smaller ReAction figures. Mattel also has contemporary Masters of the Universe crossover figures, but those are mash-ups rather than a continuation of the original LJN line.
